The owl and the night

This is a simple story in which the narrative is carried partly by the striking illustrations. The text is kept simple for beginning readers and the children will want to know whether Owl succeeds.

This is a superbly striking non-fiction tale about bugs!  The short narrative gives a structure and the pictures will stimulate so that this book  always proves a real winner. Children will read it repeatedly especially as it suits very early readers.

This is a story about an owl hunting for the moon and eventually finding it! Each page has a few lines of simple decodable text so that children are encouraged to read several sentences.

This is an outstanding text, based on letters written from animals in the zoo to their wild counterparts.  Stunning illustrations make the letters come alive and children will certainly be motivated to write their own replies.

This is a very simple text, suitable for children who are just starting to read, and yet both engaging and humorous.  Children will laugh out loud at some of the quirky illustrations and may be motivated to write their own version of a page.
