The debate of tea and coffee

Written by Atiyah bin Ali and translated by Clive Holes, this text is a fabulous translation of a traditional Arabic dialogue poem. Stunningly illustrated, the two combatants debate their relative merits, drawing on their separate history and cultures. This book is an asset to any Y5 or Y6 classroom.

Cat’s list poem

This uses very simple rhyming couplets in the context of a list poem to create a text with which all children, even those at the very start of their reading journey, can engage.  The illustrations make the book one to which children will want to return repeatedly.
