- To understand how we find out about the past.
- To learn about what life was like for Roman soldiers in Britain.
- To know that Romans used the Latin language and to learn a few Latin commands.

What was it like to be a Roman soldier in Britain?
Outcomes
Children will:
- Come to understand more about the lives of Roman soldiers based in Britain.
- Understand how we know about their lives – including the concept of an historical source and evidence.
- Produce a letter on wood as if they were a Roman soldier.
- Obey commands given in Latin.

You Will Also Need
Pieces of thin wood each about the size of a postcard (these could be Balsa wood, but small pieces of wood 12mm thick or thinner would be ideal)
Pens that will write on the wood (sharpies or something similar)
