Lesson Planning

Reflect back on Morris’s techniques as they print their own Morris inspired textiles or paper.

Teaching Outcomes:

  • To create block printing tiles based on previous motif design.
  • To print a textile or wallpaper design using the influences of William Morris.
  • To design & create a pattern for textile/wall paper design.
  • To create patterns that use symmetry.

Children will:

  • Create block printing tiles and print design using paints.
  • Design a textile/wallpaper pattern using Morris’s style, techniques and influences.
  • Use symmetry in pattern design.
